Netflix UK vs Netflix US: what’s different
Netflix sells the same subscription in both countries, but the catalogues are not the same. Here is how they compare, using our own check of thousands of popular titles.
The short answer
Of the 9,500 titles we track, 1,492 are on Netflix in the UK and 1,422 are on Netflix in the US. Only 1,113 are on Netflix in both, so 25% of what UK subscribers can watch isn't on Netflix in the US, and 22% of the US selection isn't on Netflix in the UK.
The reason is licensing. Netflix's own productions are usually worldwide, but most other shows and films are licensed country by country, often to different services, so the same title can be on Netflix in one country and on a rival in another.

How we worked this out
These figures come from ShowAtlas's own check of 9,500 popular TV shows and films across 88 countries, last updated 2026-10-07. They cover the titles in our dataset, not a service's entire catalogue, and streaming catalogues change every week. Each title links to its page with the full country-by-country picture.
